With Marybeth King retiring this year, we welcome Jerald Alcenius to the Weber’s family as our new Pastry Chef.
Jerald has been a lifelong baker and resident of Washtenaw county. His love of baking started at a very early age.
In 2006, he joined the Weber’s team. He apprenticed under Marybeth King for 10 years, so he is thoroughly prepared for the role he is stepping into. Jerald left for a short time to expand his knowledge of breads and classic French and Italian pastries. He also learned about classic gelato and sorbet techniques for two years while he was head of the gelato department at Zingerman’s Creamery in Ann Arbor before rejoining our team in 2019.
“We’re all so excited to have Jerald join our team again!” says, Michael Weber, Vice President. “We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him at our hotel and restaurant.”
